For the past decade, I thought a sour scent was normal for hydrosols. But after diving into distillation, I learned the truth—high-quality hydrosols shouldn't be sour. They should smell exactly like freshly picked flowers, perfectly preserving the plant's healing power. On small organic farms, quality cannot be standardized. Master distillers rely on decades of experience to distill the finest hydrosols.
